Jacqueline Fernandez: In a case involving money laundering and conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez was granted temporary release on a bail with a Rs. 50,000 bond on Monday. Shailender Malik, a second sessions judge, asked the ED for comment opn bail request. Her usual bail is on hold in court awaiting ED’s response.
Jacqueline had appeared before the Patiala House Court on Monday, in an alleged connection with Rs. 200 crore extortion case. She is one of the accused in a recent second additional charge sheet issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case.
In the case before Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh’s court, the ED had submitted its initial charge sheet in December of last year. Later, in February, it filed a further charge-sheet against Pinky Irani, a purported Chandrashekhar associate who is said to have introduced him to Fernandez.
According to the charge sheet, Pinky used to purchase expensive gifts for Jacqueline and deliver them to her home after Chandrashekhar made the payment.
