New Delhi: Roy Kapur Films dropped the first trailer for their upcoming Gujarati movie Chhello Show. For the unversed, the film is also India’s official entry for the 2023 Oscars.
The movie by Pan Nalin portrays the tale of a young Gujarati boy who discovers his love for movies. The youngster is enthralled by light, its capacity to tell stories, and the heroes it creates, and he longs to watch movies nonstop. Of course this gets him in trouble with his father and even the local police. He is branded a thief with a bunch of his friends but his love for movie can’t be contained.
Sharing the trailer of the film, Roy Kapur films captioned: The cinema is more than just a place…it is an experience. And #LastFilmShow is a cinematic experience like no other. Watch India’s official entry to the #Oscars at a cinema near you on Oct 14th!
Chhello Show beat out competition including SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra: Part One Shiva, Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, and R Madhavan’s directorial debut Rocketry, according to FFI president TP Aggarwal.
“The 17-member jury unanimously chose Chhello Show. There were a total of 13 films of different languages including six in Hindi — Brahmastra, ‘The Kashmir Files, Anek, Jhund, Badhaai Do and Rocketry — and one each in Tamil (Iravin Nizhal), Telugu (RRR), Bengali (Aparajito) and Gujarati (Chhello Show) as well as few others,” Aggarwal told PTI.
Chello Show will be out in theatres on October 14.
