India’s COVID tally surged past the 65 lakh mark with nearly 76,000 cases in the last 24-hours. The fatality count has also crossed the mark of 1 lakh yesterday.
Talking about the COVID vaccine the Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan stated on his Sunday Samwad that the center is looking to utilize 40 to 50 crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to 20 to 25 crore of the country’s population by July next year.
“There is a high-level expert body going into all aspects of vaccines. Our rough estimate and the target would be to receive and utilise 400 to 500 million doses covering approximately 25 crore people by July 2021,” Dr Harsh Vardhan said.
The surge of COVID-19 in India has created a havoc situation in the entire nation but in recent days India saw a marginal drop in the daily COVID count. But as of now, the death tally is the biggest reason to worry, India stands at the third position when to death numbers and second in global corona cases.
The total number of COVID cases world-wide crossed the 3.4 crore mark while the fatalities count also strived to 10 lakh.
