It is now OK for a woman to conduct Hajj or Umrah without a mahram as long as she is accompanied by “trustworthy ladies or secure company to perform Hajj or Umrah,” according to Hajj and Umrah Services Adviser Ahmed Saleh Halabi. The Maliki and Shafi’i academics have this opinion.
According to Abbas Shoman, the head of the fatwa at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt, a woman is permitted to conduct the Hajj and Umrah without a mahram’s companionship, Halabi continued.
According to author Faten Ibrahim Hussein, a former advisor to the Hajj Minister, the Saudi government offers all facilities for pilgrims to undertake the Hajj and Umrah in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030.

Security in the Kingdom
In order to fully safeguard women, security has been expanded throughout the Kingdom, on all modes of transportation, and at ports. Additionally, a solid legal infrastructure has been built, including the anti-harassment system, she added.
For everyone who might consider breaching the law, these punishments are deterrents. Additionally, security cameras are required in crucial locations, such as airports, border crossing points, the Grand Mosque, the Prophet’s Mosque, and others. So a woman is safe, especially if she is around other women she trusts.
“There are many women who come to the Kingdom to work without a mahram, and since we live in such security, there have been no major incidences…
Since there is no longer a motive for women to arrive without a mahram, there is no longer any fear.
