Bhagwant Mann: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday said his government would ensure peace in Punjab at any cost and that he would not allow any anti-social element to disturb the hard-earned peace and communal harmony in the state .
Two back to back killings within a span of one week have raised serious concerns over the law and order situation in Punjab.

Mann, who was chairing a meeting with officers of the administration and the police, directed the police not to spare anyone behind the killing of dera follower Pradeep Singh. The CM said, “These incidents are being carried out with nefarious designs to dent the strong bond of our communal harmony and unity”.

Dera follower shot
Dera follower Pradeep Singh was shot dead by some unidentified bike riders at Kotakpura in Faridkot on Thursday. A gunman was also injured in this incident. Reports said Pradeep Singh was going to his shop when the assailants opened fire. Pradeep Singh died while his gunman was admitted to the medical hospital in injured condition.
Gangster claims responsibility
Goldie Brar, a gangster sitting in Canada, has claimed responsibility for the murder by writing a post on social media.
On November 4, Shiv Sena (Taksali) leader Sudhir Suri was shot dead by a garment shop owner when he was protesting outside a temple in Amritsar.
Both men were killed in the presence of Punjab Police security guards attached with them in view of the threat perception. Reports said Suri had 16 gunmen to protect him, while Pradeep Singh was accompanied with three armed guards.
