The last two weeks were important for Akshay Kumar fans as Firoz Nadiadwala made multiple rounds at actor Akshay Kumar’s office for reviving three comedy franchises – Hera Pheri, Welcome and Awara Pagal Deewana. These films are one of the famous films of Akshay Kumar’s career. Also, he got a lot of fame for his character in these films. But there’s sad news for Akshay Kumar’s fans as the sources tell us that talks have fizzled out. It seems like Akshay Kumar isn’t convinced with the quality and vision of the sequel concepts.
Why Akshay pulled out?
A source revealed, “Hera Pheri, Welcome, and Awara Pagal Deewana are most loved franchise led by Akshay Kumar and he was very passionate to revisit these films again. However, after several meetings and talks. Akshay decided to step back from this as he couldn’t impress with the script ideas.” The source further added, “Akshay knows about the expectations of his fans from these movies and he don’t want to compromise with that. He did not want to remake these films without proper script and vision as many people failed to do that.”
Hera Pheri 3 was announced last decade with the actors Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. But after the start of the shooting the film was stalled mid-way for multiple reasons. The makers attempted to make Welcome’s sequel in 2015 with John Abraham but it was also a failure at the box office.
