A 35-year-old woman has been stabbed to death in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area. Her body has been recovered from her rented house. Police said on Friday that the deceased has been identified as Rekha Rani, who was living with her daughter in a rented house in Ganesh Nagar area for the last 15 years. He told that the information was received at Tilak Nagar police station at 12.28 pm. After this a team reached the house and found that the door was locked.
When the police opened the door, they found Rekha Rani’s dead body. The 16-year-old daughter of the deceased said in her statement that she was ill and was sleeping in her room after taking medicines. A police officer said that she did not know that her mother had been murdered and she understood that her mother was in another room and that he was calling her. When Rekha Rani did not pick up the phone, she went to another room where her mother’s male friend was. When she asked the person where her mother was, the person said that she had gone out and asked her to go out too.
The woman was stabbed twice
The officer said that Rekha Rani’s daughter left the house in view of apprehension of disturbances. The suspect also quickly locked the door and left. West Delhi’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ghanshyam Bansal said that it has come to light that the woman was stabbed twice.
Team formed to trace the accused
DCP Bansal said that on the complaint of the daughter, a case has been registered under sections related to the Indian Penal Code. Police said that a team has been formed to trace the accused and footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being scanned.
