US President Donald Trump’s supporters came out on the streets of downtown Washington as they backed his claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election results. Trump, a Republican candidate, has refused to concede and even pressed legal charges even as he no evidence to proof serious irregularities.
The protestors walked from Freedom Plaza near the White House in U.S. Supreme Court building on Capiol Hall as part of their Million Maga March and chanted “stop the steal”.
The protests were mainly peaceful throughout the day on Saturday but went on to become violent by late at the night as Trump supporters clashed with their counterparts.
According to a National Herald reports, a man in his 20s received serious injuries and was subsequently admitted to a hospital after being stabbed several times in the back. As per the report, two police officers were also injured.
The clash became even violent with two groups wielding batons and pushed and shoved each other until cops took the matter in their hands.
Meanwhile, Trump extending his support to the protestors backing him in a tweet said, “They will not stand for a Rigged and Corrupt Election!”
Holding their guards high, anti-Trump demonstrators allegedly clashed with law enforcement in DC downtown as they were heading towards the hotel where Trump supporters were staying.
Trump, bashing at counter protestors who turned up at the Million MAGA March, said, “Antifa SCUM ran for the hills today when they tried attacking the people at the Trump Rally, because those people aggressively fought back.”
Later, in a series of tweet, Trump lashed out media outlets calling them “the Enemy of the People.”
“The Fake News Media hardly even discussed the tens of thousands of people that came to DC Formed organically, and in many parts of the Country!
“The Silent Media is the Enemy of the People!!! Human Radical Left garbage did this. Being arrested now!” he tweeted.
