Rohit Sharma: In the crucial second ODI against Bangladesh on Wednesday in Dhaka, Rohit Sharma fielded in the slip cordon and ended up with a finger stained in blood. When Bangladesh opener Anamul Haque gave Mohammed Siraj an outside edge, Rohit was at second slip. However, the Indian captain dropped the catch and, worse yet, ended up hurting his finger in the process.
Skipper Rohit Sharma sent to hospital
Later, it was revealed that the 35-year-old had been taken to a nearby hospital for an X-ray in order to rule out a probable fracture. Vice-captain KL Rahul is in charge of the team while he is away.
Rohit quickly left the field to receive medical attention for what appeared to be a case of split webbing while he held his left hand in pain and shook his head in dismay. Rajat Patidar took his place on the field in place of him. Rohit’s participation in the India innings later in the day is also unknown.

Since India’s semifinal T20 World Cup loss to England last month, this is the first series Rohit has played in. He was taken off the limited-overs tour of New Zealand that followed the world cup along with a number of other senior players.
Bangladesh leads the series by 1-0
After losing the first game of the series by one wicket, India must win the second ODI. Bangladesh was down to 136/9 while attempting to chase down 187 before Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman found a strong ally and went on to lead their team to an exciting victory. While Mustafizur scored 10 not out during a 51-run partnership that won the game, Miraz remained unbeaten on 38 off 39.
