India added fresh new 45,882 cases in last 24-hour, pushing the total tally past 9 million. The total case currently stand at 90,04,365. Recoveries surged to 84.28 lakh, pushing the national recovery rate to 93.6 per cent.
584 people have lost lives in last 24-hour, taking the total death toll to 1,32,162. As of now, 4,43,794 cases are active in the country.
Maharashtra remained the top affected state in the country with 17,63,055 total cases, up 5,535 since Thursday. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala are other states to report the most number of cases.
On Thursday, Delhi reported more than 7.546 cases, taking the total active cases to 43,221. The death toll has reached 8,000 with 98 new deaths. The recovery rate in the city is 89.9 per cent while the death rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
