Despite his father’s death, the Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj said that Virat Kohli’s advice to ‘become strong’ helped him a lot in preparation for a tough series against Australia.
Kohli has also faced personal tragedy, carrying out professional responsibilities. When Kohli was a teenager in 2007, his father died during a Ranji Trophy match, but he returned to the ground the next day to score a brilliant innings of 97 runs for Delhi.
Siraj’s father Mohammad Gaus died last week in Hyderabad due to a lung disease. He was 53 years old. The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) gave Siraj the option of returning home, but this fast bowler decided to play for the national team.
26-year-old Siraj said on the sidelines of the training session of the Indian team here, “Virat Bhai said that Mian doesn’t take the stress and be strong.” Your father wanted you to play for India. So do it and don’t take the stress.”
