IND vs BAN: The first Test match between India and Bangladesh is currently being played in Chattogram, and Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan hasn’t exactly had the greatest of luck. On Day 1 after lunch, with Cheteshwar Pujara only on 12, he dropped Pujara in the second ball.
The seasoned right-hander eventually reached 90, the highest total in India’s opening innings. He also gave dropped Shreyas Iyer, who eventually scored 86. Hasan didn’t make any mistakes on Day 2, but the way he handled Ravichandran Ashwin received criticism from the audience.
Ashwin and Hassan sledge during IND vs BAN second day
Ashwin tried to smash off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz with the charge in the second ball in the 132nd over of India’s batting. When the off-spinner saw Ashwin’s action, he just held back on his length. The Indian all-rounder then came incredibly close to missing the ball with the bat. That’s where the intriguing incident happened.
Nurul Hasan could have taken some less time for stumping though keepers poking fun at the batter by delaying removing the bails is nothing new. In fact, he looked and did a cheeky gesture. Thanks to his quick action, the bails were ripped off just in time to send the India all-rounder back for a solid 58.
When internet users noticed this, they immediately slammed the Bangladeshi goalkeeper for attempting to be too clever.
After left-arm spinner Taijul took 4-133, off-spinner Mehidy grabbed the last wicket, Mohammed Siraj, to end with 4-112.
