IND vs BAN: At the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, during the first innings of the ongoing first Test, India pacer Mohammed Siraj and Bangladesh opener Najmul Hossain Shanto were enaged in a priceless incident of sledging.
This came shortly after Shanto’s valiant half-century score brought the hosts past the 100-run mark without losing a wicket in their enormous 513 run chase. The Bangladesh opener, though, responded differently than Litton, and it was priceless.
What happened during the IND vs BAN test?
In the first innings, a argument resulted from Litton giving the ball back to Siraj. The Bangladesh captain was eventually dismissed, and Siraj joined Virat Kohli in making fun of him.
On Saturday, in the 34th over, just as Shanto had reached his fifty, Siraj gave him a stern look in an attempt to frighten the batter. Shanto chose to smile rather than turn his head, unlike Litton. Siraj approached Shanto again in the very next ball, and this time some words were spoken. The Bangladeshi opener made eye-contact to him.
Later, Siraj continued to argue with Shanto in an effort to irritate the batter, but Shanto only grinned back at the Indian pacer. He then hit Siraj’s shorter delivery for a cracking four in the third ball of the over, bringing up the 100-run partnership for Bangladesh’s opening duo.
Bangladesh needs to chase 513 runs
Following centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill, as well as three 50-run stands from the visitors, India set Bangladesh a target of 513 runs on Friday. India finally made the decision to declare their innings at 258 for two.
