Tata Blackbird: Tata Motors is set to release a new SUV to compete with the well-liked Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos following the successful releases of the Nexon, Harrier, and Punch SUVs. The Blackbird SUV is anticipated to be positioned between the Nexon and Harrier SUVs by Tata Motors.
Tata Blackbird Dimensions and Design
Tata’s distinctive design language, which we have already seen in the Harrier and Punch, is probably going to be carried over to the Blackbird. It might come with Tata’s recognisable Humanity Line grille up front and split LED headlight configuration. For added tough flair, the Blackbird SUV might also have a tall hood and skid plates.
The Blackbird might have side-hinged front and rear doors that opened 90 degrees for simple entry and exit. The car might have 17-inch wheels like its competitors, and the top model might possibly have 18-inch alloy wheels. The Blackbird is probably going to have an eye-catching design at the back with a tapering roofline, slim LED tail lights, and a connected LED light bar.
Engine Specifications
The Nexon and Tata Blackbird are likely to have similar powertrain choices. Although there have been rumours that Tata Motors is working on a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine, our sources indicate that the project has been put off until a later date. A 1.5L turbo diesel engine and a 1.2L turbo petrol engine are available for the Nexon. The Blackbird’s engine bay could house the same engines, albeit with a more intense performance tune.
The Hyundai Creta, the most popular C-segment SUV, has 1.5L regular petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol, and 1.5L turbo diesel engine choices. The Blackbird’s power and torque output would certainly be inferior to that of its competitors if it were powered by the Nexon’s engine, but it would be more fuel-efficient.
Features and Interior
The Tata Blackbird SUV should provide features and space that set the bar for its class. It might have the most recent Tata Motors infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as linked car technology. An all-digital instrument panel, dual-zone climate control, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, lane keeping assist, six airbags, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera additional features that the Blackbird SUV may include.
Tata Blackbird Rivals and Launch timeline
Regarding the introduction of the Blackbird SUV, Tata Motors has not made any public announcements. However, we anticipate Tata Motors will present the Blackbird SUV concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. If it is released, it will compete with the forthcoming Maruti Suzuki Hyryder as well as the recently introduced Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the facelifted Hyundai Creta, which is anticipated to make its debut at the Auto Expo. The Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor are some of Tata Blackbird’s further competitors.
