Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’ will be created only by the cultural unity of India. Addressing the closing ceremony of ‘Kashi-Tamil Sangamam’ at the Amphitheater Ground of Kashi Hindu University on Friday evening. Amit Shah said, “Even after independence, there came a time when attempts were made to poison the cultural unity of the country.”
Through many different ideas, through sources, attempts were made to separate the two ideas of the same country, but now the time has come to create ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and that is India’s cultural heritage. It can be done only with unity.
Targeting the non-BJP governments without naming them, Shah said, “For a long time there was no attempt to connect the cultures of our country. Modi ji has tried to connect cultures after centuries through Kashi Tamil Sangamam.
He said, “I am sure that this effort will be a successful effort in the coming days to connect the languages and cultures of the whole country, not just Kashi and Tamil.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revived Indian cultural unity
The home minister said, “This effort should have happened immediately after independence, not for many years, as a long period of slavery destroyed our cultural unity, the diversity of our heritage and the unity of the Indian soul within our different cultures had degenerated to some extent, it needed renaissance.Giving credit for the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah said, “I am happy that in the year of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revived Indian cultural unity.” I want to thank Modi ji a lot for this.
He said, “This is going to be the culmination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Kashi Tamil Sangamam, but I want to say that this is not the culmination, but it is the beginning.
Shah said, “The culture, philosophy, language, art, knowledge and culture of Tamil Nadu, which is recognized in the whole world, is the beginning of the union of the cultural heritage of the city of Kashi, the two lofty peaks of Indian culture, and from here it is the way forward.”
He said, “India is a country made up of many cultures, many languages, many dialects and many arts, but if you look closely, its soul is one and that is the soul of India.”
Shah said, “That is why the pandits who practice the creation of the existence of countries around the world say that India is the only country which is a country built on the basis of culture. The basis of unity of our country is our cultures.
Citing history, the Home Minister said that after coming from the South, Adi Shankaracharya found acceptance among the scholars of Kashi on his Brahma Sutra Tika and after that this is Modi ji’s most successful effort.
He said that the work of building a bridge between the culture of Tamil Nadu and Kashi has been done and from here the cultural renaissance of India is about to begin.
Shah also said that today in this Kashi Tamil Sangamam, it was learned that Tamil language is one of the oldest languages in the world.
He said, “I would like to thank the people of Kashi, all the brothers and sisters who have come from Tamil Nadu have been warmly welcomed by the people of Kashi. The people of Tamil Nadu can never forget Kashi.’
