Honda: Chinese partner Sundiro Honda has unveiled the CBF190R’s 2023 iteration. The most recent model, however, only receives a few minor cosmetic updates and retains its original mechanical design.
All about the Honda CBF 190R
The 2023 CBF190R so maintains its sleek appearance, and its tank extensions give it a more muscular appearance than its Indian cousin, the Honda Hornet 2.0.
The CBF190R has an entirely different performance profile but employs the exact same engine as the Hornet 2.0. The power output (16.86PS at 8000rpm) is 0.4PS less but arrives at 500 revs sooner while the torque (16.3Nm at 8000rpm) is slightly (0.2Nm) more and arrives at the engine 2,000 revs later. Despite this, both bikes weigh 142kg (kerb).
Both bikes have the same set of components and characteristics. Therefore, the CBF190R shares many features with the Hornet 2.0, including a USD fork and mono shock, disc brakes up front and back with single-channel ABS, all-around LED lighting, and an LCD instrument display without smartphone connectivity.
Price and launch in India
Prices for the CBF190R begin at INR 1.91 lakh (without taxes), which is a hefty price over those of its Indian cousin, which start at Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom). Ultimately, though, it is quite unlikely that Honda will introduce the CBF190R in India. However, if the Hornet 2.0 doesn’t appeal to you and you’re searching for a basic naked Sportster, you might also want to consider other bikes offered by different manufacturers.
