Electric scooter: E-scooter accidents are now rather prevalent. An EPluto electric scooter recently caught fire in Virar. The event happened on Saturday night in the Virar East neighbourhood. The Vasai-Virar belt has seen three similar incidents in the last four months. Two hours before the incident, Hitesh Patil, the owner of the vehicle, had come home from work.

Electric scooter Incident details
Patil claimed that at approximately 6.15 p.m., he had parked the vehicle at its usual location beneath his residential society building, Raju Patil Apartment, in Phoolpada, Virar (east). Residents of the building noticed the scooter on fire two hours later and informed Patil. They sprinted over to the vehicle and extinguished the flames with water.
Even though locals were able to put out the fire in 20 minutes, the scooter was absolutely destroyed. No other property within the building compound was harmed.
Dealers in Borivali gave Patil the assurance that a technical team will go to the scene and examine the scooter’s burned remains. Patil paid more than Rs 92,000 for the vehicle. There is a five-year warranty on the scooter. Never has he let the battery charge for more than three hours. Patil stated that he had already filed a police report.
