PAK vs ENG: Pakistan lost by eight wickets to England in the third and final Test match in Karachi on Tuesday. The defeat marked Pakistan’s first whitewash in a home Test series and their first run of four consecutive defeats (one being against Australia earlier this year). During the series, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja advised Pakistan captain Babar Azam to “pick T20 players” for Tests after being impressed with England’s “Bazball” theory. With a strong remark, Babar ended Ramiz’s statement.
Ramiz praised England’s approach
During the second Test in Multan, Ramiz spoke with former England captain Michael Atherton about Pakistan cricket, the stadium, and the ongoing series. During the conversation, Ramiz praised England’s new approach to Test cricket and advised Babar to select T20 players for Test cricket in the same way that England does.
Babar cut the conversation short
Ramiz said,“Like England for example, I suggested to Babar that England are playing the T20 format in a five-day version, so you better pick T20 players here. It’s a forced mindset on Pakistan, which I absolutely like. I want the future generation to think of it as a T20 format, like England are playing,” On Tuesday, when asked about Ramiz’s advice, Babar cut the conversation short, saying that Pakistan has a plan in place for every format and that changing one’s mindset takes time. Pakistan will next face New Zealand in a two-match series beginning on December 26.
