AUS vs SA: After winning the second Test by an innings and 182 at the MCG on Thursday, Australia defeated South Africa at home for the first time in 16 years. On the fourth day, after resuming play at 1/15, South Africa was bowled out for 204, their first score above 200 in eight innings.
Steven Smith pulls off a stunning dismissal
After winning the first Test at Brisbane’s Gabba in in two days, Australia’s victory over South Africa was their greatest since winning by an innings and 360 in Johannesburg in 2002. Mitchell Starc is unlikely to play due to tendon damage to the middle finger of his left hand, while all-rounder Cameron Green, who recorded a career-high 5-27 in the first innings, is out with a broken finger.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Starc bowled quite quickly despite being injured. However, in the final innings, Steve Smith showed his bowling prowess as he dismissed Lungi Ngidi on the ball which batter could not play at all.

Ngidi was bowled out by Smith on a spin delivery. The batter could not understand the delivery at all and was dismissed after the ball hit off-stump. This was also the final wicket of the Proteas inning and match as the Kangaroos went on to have a record victory.
Third and final test match of the series will now begin on January 4 at Sydney. After which, the three-match ODI series will begin from 12th of January.
