India’s star player Rishabh Pant was seriously injured in a car accident on Friday. After this accident, he has been admitted to Max Hospital in Dehradun where he is being treated.
Rishabh’s condition is fine now and he is talking. The DDCA director, after meeting Rishabh on Saturday, explained the cause of the accident. He had said that Rishabh was trying to avoid the pothole, due to which his car lost control and he became a victim of the accident. On Sunday, the CM of Uttarakhand also said after meeting Rishabh that he was trying to avoid potholes, but now the project director of National Highway Authority of India, Roorkee, has said that there was no pothole there.
In fact, at the place where Rishabh’s accident happened, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) started repairing work late on Saturday night. But during this time the work was left incomplete due to traffic jam on the highway. NHAI project director (Roorkee) PS Gusain claimed that there was no pothole on the road and they had only done patchwork to fix the road.
“What the cricketers are referring to as the potholes could be the ups and downs of the road,” he further said that “there was no pothole on the Narsan and Mangalore section of the Delhi-Haridwar highway, but the road was in disrepair, and our team only did patchwork to smoothen the road, but due to the canal, the road near the accident site the width decreases. We are talking to the irrigation department to solve the problem. We requested the irrigation department to shift the canal but their officials said that there is private land all around and hence it is not possible. We also sent letters to the district administration to shift the canal so that we can widen the stretch of the highway.”
How is Rishabh’s condition
After Rishabh’s accident, people say that the roads there are bad. Patchwork is needed at many places on the roads. Miraculously, the 25-year-old cricketer escaped unhurt with injuries on his head and right knee while his back was scratched. He was rescued by the driver and conductor of a Haryana Roadways bus. The Uttarakhand government will honor those who saved Rishabh’s life on January 26. Talking about when Rishabh will be able to return to the cricket field, then looking at his injury, it may take him two to six months. Rishabh has been shifted from ICU to ward at present.
