The semi high-speed Vande Bharat train connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri was launched on this rail route 4 days ago.
According to news agency ANI, this incident of attack on Vande Bharat train took place near Malda station. There was a stir in the railway administration as soon as the information about stone pelting on the Vande Bharat train was received.
Glass in the C-13 coach of the train got damaged
According to media reports, she was coming to Howrah after walking from New Jalpaiguri. When the train was passing through Kumarganj in Malda district, stones were pelted on Vande Bharat. In this incident, the glass in the C-13 coach of the train got damaged. The operation of Vande Bharat Express between Howrah-New Jalpaiguri started on 30 December 2022. Prime Minister Narendra Modi duly flagged off this train in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, but a few days after the operation, the incident of stone pelting on the train has raised questions about the security.
BJP has reacted strongly to the incident
Railway has ordered an inquiry into the attack on Vande Bharat train. In the investigation, it will be found out who pelted stones on the premier semi-high-speed train. Meanwhile, the BJP has reacted strongly to the incident. The BJP has accused TMC workers of throwing stones at the Vande Bharat train. BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari has termed it as a conspiracy of TMC.
Significantly, the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train has not been targeted for the first time. Even before this, vande Bharat train has been targeted by chaotic elements many times. On 15 December 2022, stones were thrown at the Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat Express train in Chhattisgarh. Due to this the glass of the window of the train was broken. The incident took place between Durg and Bhilai station.
