Delhi Car Horror: According to the victim’s companion, the males who dragged the 20-year-old beneath their car in Delhi on New Year’s morning “knew she was caught under.” According to the police, Nidhi was riding pillion in the same scooter as Anjali Singh when they both went to a New Year’s party. After seeing Anjali being pulled under the automobile and falling to the ground, Nidhi, who had supposedly fought with Anjali, returned home in disbelief.
“The Baleno hit us head on. I fell to one side and she fell towards the front,” Nidhi informed the press.
As her friend’s body was being cremated this evening, she said to reporters, “My friend got stuck under the car. The men knew that a girl had rolled under their car. They deliberately ran over her. They knew. The girl was stuck under the car and she was screaming. I felt so hopeless that I went home.”
Nidhi continued, recounting the horrible experience in graphic detail, “I went home and didn’t tell anything to anyone. I had panicked. I cried a lot. They drove forward and back twice. Forward and back. Twice. She was on her back. Probably got stuck in something. So they went forward and back. Then they just drove off, dragging her under the car.”
The axle had caught Anjali’s leg.
The five guys in the car, who are now in custody, have admitted to the police that they hit the scooter in a rush and were unaware that the woman was trapped in the underbelly. They claimed to be intoxicated after downing two bottles of wine while travelling from Murthal, Haryana. They added that despite the loud music in the car, they were unable to hear anything.
The men asserted that as they were close to the Jonti settlement, they observed the body. They noticed the woman’s arm as they made a U-turn. After stopping the automobile and leaving the body behind, they continued driving.
After returning the automobile and borrowing a ride from Ashutosh, they returned home.

About Anjali Singh
The 20-year-old, who supported an eight-person household, was cremated today amidst shock and outrage from the city.
Her naked body caused the family to believe she had been the victim of sexual assault, however this was disproven by the postmortem examination. When the deceased was discovered, her clothes had pulled off and her flesh had been peeled as a result of being dragged in the undercarriage for 13 kilometres, according to the police. According to the early postmortem report, the deceased had sustained severe blunt trauma injuries.
The guys have been charged with culpable homicide, but other inquiries are ongoing.
The Home Ministry has requested a top police officer to investigate into the shortcomings on the side of the Delhi police after the horrifying tragedy occurred on New Year’s, when the city was under a security blanket.
