Cricket Viral Video: Cricket fans from both India and Pakistan as well as throughout the world have been captivated by the encounters between stark rivals over the years. Some cricket commentators even compare them to the Ashes rivalry between Australia and England as being more intense.
Venkatesh Prasad and Sohail’s exciting encounter
Who can forget Prasad and Sohail’s tense exchange during the 1996 ODI World Cup quarterfinal in Bangalore? The two normally cool-headed cricket players began arguing, much to the shock of the other team’s players. Ajay Jadeja’s quick-fire 45 not out and Navjot Singh Sidhu’s 93 helped India set up a formidable 287/8 in 50 overs in the winner-takes-all encounter.
However, the Pakistani opening pair of Saeed Anwar and Sohail put up 84 for the first wicket in just 10 overs. After that, Anwer (48) was replaced by Javagal Srinath in the eleventh over to allow the hosts some breathing room. Following Sohail’s abrupt dismissal, the tide turned in favour of India in the fifteenth over. Tensions were high as Sohail skillfully timed the ball in front of the Chinnaswamy Stadium’s full house.
Sohail, who was obviously fired up, smashed Prasad through cover for a four and then pointed his bat in the direction of the cover area, where he had hit Prasad for a boundary, in an effort to rattle the Indian bowler. However, the Indian bowler did not appreciate Sohail’s gesture. In the midst, the two began to argue.
Prasad responded by shattering Sohail’s stumps with a superbly timed inswinger on the very next delivery.

The crowd exploded in celebration, and to rub salt in Sohail’s wounds, a fired-up Prasad gave him the order to get to the locker room. As a result of Pakistan failed to successfully chase down India’s 288 runs, and lost by 39 runs after Sohail’s wicket.
