Fog Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that visibility is limited in several areas of various states as a result of the foggy conditions that pervaded north India. Today also, thick fog has blanketed Delhi, reducing visibility around the capital and bringing bitter cold waves.
According to the meteorological department, dense to very dense fog is likely to persist in some or many places during the night and early morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh during the next two days, and in isolated pockets thereafter for the following three days over the region. This is due to the continuation of the prevailing light winds and high moisture near the surface over the Indo-Gangetic plains.
