The Karnataka High Court took notice of the Bengaluru metro collapse that killed a woman and her two-year-old child. On Tuesday, a two-wheeler was struck by the reinforcement cage of a metro pillar that was still being built due to negligence on the part of metro personnel. While receiving care at a neighbouring hospital, the mother and her son passed away, while her husband and daughter also suffered injuries.
Karnataka High Court takes note of Metro Collapse Case
Following the incident, three Bengaluru Metro officials were suspended.
In order to verify the evidence on what caused the cage to fall, officials from Indian Institutes of Technology, Hyderabad, were spotted assessing and inspecting the raw materials that were used for the construction.
The metal rod-built pillar stood roughly 40 feet tall.

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai assures thorough inquiry
Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai promised a thorough investigation into the accident. For the two people who passed away, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) gave a financial help of Rs. 10 lakh each, while the Chief Minister announced an extra Rs.10 Lakh
BMRCL’s managing director, Anjum Parvez, described the situation as “unfortunate” and announced that they would also conduct an internal audit.
He further stated “According to reports by our engineer, all the safety measures were taken as per the standard protocol, but still the incident has happened, so we will have to do the fact finding. Whether there was any manual negligence or technical problem we will get to know from the report. If there was any manual negligence, action will certainly be taken against those responsible,”
