Petrol and diesel price update [26 January, 2023]: Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged on Thursday. Prices have been stable for the past seven months. On May 21 of last year, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre across the country.

The difference in the price of fuel in the states is due to the tax and the cost of transportation imposed by the central and state government.
How to check petrol and diesel price in your city:
Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates daily, taking into account crude and rupee-dollar rates in international markets. Daily price changes for fuel are effected at 6 am every day.
