Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper, is still recovering from the injuries he sustained in a car crash on December 30. Despite this, former India World Cup-winning captain and cricket legend, Kapil Dev, has displayed a mix of affection and disappointment towards Pant. Kapil stated that he loves Pant but is unhappy about the car accident and its impact on the team’s balance, going so far as to say that he wants to give Pant a slap when he recovers.
What did Kapil Dev say on Rishabh Pant?
Kapil Dev, who holds a parental-like affection towards Rishabh Pant, wants to give the Indian wicketkeeper a slap after he has recovered from the injuries sustained in a car crash on December 30. Kapil believes this to be a right of a parent, similar to how they discipline their children when they make mistakes.
The 1983-World cup-winning skipper said, “I have a lot of love for him. I want him to recover so that I can go and slap him and tell him to look after himself. Because of your accident, the entire team is in tatters. I love him, but I am also angry at him. Why do such youngsters of today’s times make such mistakes? There should be a slap for it.”
He continued further by saying, “First blessings, that he gets all the love in the world, may the almighty give him good health. First that, but after that, like parents have this responsibility to slap the children if they make mistakes.”
