Cricket Viral Video: Sourav Ganguly was one of India’s most talented batsmen in recent history. He was known for his impressive batting abilities, but there was one aspect of his game that was considered a weakness – his running between the wickets.
Comedy of errors between Ganguly and VVS Laxman
This became evident during the 2nd ODI match against England in 2004, where he and his teammate VVS Laxman collided while attempting a quick single. The two batsmen got in each other’s way, causing Ganguly to lose his balance and his bat. Despite his attempts to complete the run without a bat, he was unable to make it to the safe end and was eventually dismissed.
While the incident may have appeared comical to some, it was not a laughing matter for Ganguly. It serves as a lesson for all cricketers to be mindful of their partner’s position when seeking quick singles. Laxman, who was never in real danger during the incident, may have felt remorseful for his role in Ganguly’s dismissal.

England went on to win the match with a score of 307 runs and India was bowled out for 237, resulting in a 70-run victory for England. Ganguly’s score for the match was 7 runs, while Laxman scored 33. It was a tough loss for the Indian team, but Ganguly’s contribution to Indian cricket will always be remembered and celebrated. He taught the world how to play the sport with passion, dedication, and a never-say-die attitude.
