Bigg Boss 16 winner MC Stan is reaching heights and he performed for Sania Mirza, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest Indian tennis players of all time. She ended her illustrious career on Sunday at Hyderabad’s Lal Bahadur Stadium, where it all began for her nearly two decades ago. Sania announced her arrival on the world stage with a historic WTA singles title win in Hyderabad, inspiring millions of women in India to pursue sports as a career. Sania’s 20-year-long journey, both as a sports icon and as an individual, has been revolutionary.
The 36-year-old, who has six Grand Slam titles to her name, including three women’s doubles titles with Swiss legend Martina Hingis, played an exhibition match as the final match of her career. Sania played a few friendly matches with fellow tennis players, including Rohan Bopanna, Ivan Dodig, Cara Black, her best friend Bethanie Mattek-Sands, and Marion Bartoli. The exhibition match was attended by ex-India cricket star Yuvraj Singh, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, and ex-India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin, among others.

MC Stan celebrated Sania’s career by performing live on the historic occasion in Hyderabad. He performed one of his famous song Ek Din Pyaar and the tennis star came to hug him and thank him for his amazing performance. Sania struggled to hold back her tears during her speech. She thanked everyone for the kind of send-off given to her. “It all started here in 2002 when I won medals in the National Games. Then in 2004, I won my first WTA title. As someone said, it has been a one-handed drive for me. Yes, it has been an honour to represent the country at the highest level for 20 long years,” she said.

Sania acknowledged the difficulties she faced as a young girl pursuing tennis but thanked her parents for believing in her and supporting her throughout her journey. She expressed her love for the game and her desire to help produce more players like her in Telangana. “I can tell you I will be there with the Telangana Government and the Sports Authority of Telangana State to produce another Sania. In fact, we need more and more Sanias and will work for that for sure. These are happy tears. I miss you guys,” Sania concluded emotionally.
