Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel on February 6, inaugurated the 3-days Annual flower, fruit and vegetable show in the Governor house.
The scenic exhibition of flowers, fruits and vegetables, being organised by the horticulture department of the Uttar Pradesh Government, has welcomed beautiful produce from city parks, university lawns, house gardens amongst others.
A number of housewives and elite households from across the city and the state have also participated in the event with home-grown varieties of flowers.
Organised for the first time in 1936, the annual fair has successfully garnered appreciation from the city folks through the recent years in the past.
During the inauguration of annual fruit, vegetable and flower show, Minister of Horticulture Sreeram Chauhan, Anju Chaudhary Upadhyaksha, UP Rajya Mahila Aayog and former Mayor Gorakhpur RK Tiwari, IAS, Chief Secretary Mahesh Kumar Gupta, IAS, Additional Chief Secy to Governor was also present.
The venue also have the Army and PAC bands, police for security, arrangement for sanitation and facility for drinking water.
