Arrested activist Disha Ravi made the toolkit detailing digital support for the farmers’ protest against the three farm laws in collaboration with Nikita Jacob and Shantanu, Delhi Police said on Monday and claimed that Ravi revealed the information while she was questioned in Bengaluru after her arrest.
Addressing a press conference this afternoon regarding the toolkit case, the Delhi Police said that the 21-year-old Ravi had deleted the WhatsApp group, which she created to spread the ‘toolkit’.
Ravi, arrested in the Toolkit case, and two others, held a Zoom meeting organised by “pro-khalistani group PFJ” before 26 January to plan a social media buzz on the tractor parade, the Delhi Police said today.
Police claimed that probe has shown that Ms. Jacob, Mr. Shantanu and Ms. Ravi created the ‘toolkit document’ and further spread it.
“Disha had sent this toolkit to U.S. based climate change activist Greta Thunberg on Telegram. Preliminary probe revealed that a lot of data has been deleted from Disha’s phone. Her telegram search also reveals that on February 3, toolkit links were deleted. Based on this evidence, her arrest was made,” the Commissioner said.
Police said that non-bailable warrants have been issued against Ms. Jacob and Mr. Shantanu.
“Many screenshots of the toolkit were available on open source and were investigated. When the probe was able to fetch enough information, a search warrant was obtained from the court on February 9, against Nikita Jacob, one of the editors of the toolkit Google doc,” Prem Nath said.
The JCP Cyber claimed that the toolkit was made ‘very smartly’. “This toolkit was created very smartly, in which all details were given like whom to follow, whom to tag and what to share when and how. There are multiple hyperlinks, where a lot of pro-Khalistan content is available,” he said.
“During their meetings, Dhaliwal and others decided hashtags. Their plan was to spread as much misinformation as possible,” Prem Nath told media.
