Hazrat Maulana Rabe Hasani Nadvi, President of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), passed away on Thursday (April 13). Maulana Rabe Hasni Nadvi was ill for a long time. The chairman of the Muslim Personal Law Board was brought from Rae Bareli to Lucknow for treatment. He breathed his last at the age of 93 at Nadwa Madrasa in Daliganj, Lucknow.
Maulana Rabe Hasani Nadvi was an Indian Islamic scholar, who was the President of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and the Lucknow-based Nadwatul Ulema – an important center of religious education. He is also the Vice President of Alami Rabita Adab-e-Islami, Riyadh (KSA), a founding member of the Muslim World League. He is regularly listed among the 500 most influential Muslims in the world.
Was born in Rae Bareli
Maulana Rabe Hasni Nadvi was born on 1 October 1929 in Rae Bareli, UP. Nadvi received his primary education from his family maktab in Rae Bareli and joined Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama for higher studies. After completing his studies in 1949, he was appointed as assistant teacher in Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema.
In 2002, became the President of All India Muslim Personal Law Board
He was also honored with the President’s Award for his contribution in the field of Arabic language. In 1993 he was appointed Muhatmim (Vice Chancellor) of Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema. In 1999 he was appointed Chancellor of Nadwa. He was unanimously elected President of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board after the death of Hazrat Maulana Qazi Mujahidul Islam Qasmi (Rahmatullah Ali) in Hyderabad in June 2002.
