Cricket Viral Video: Known for his cool and composed nature, former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is often referred to as “Captain Cool.” However, even the calmest of individuals have their limits, and Dhoni is no exception. During a heated match between India and Australia, Dhoni lost his temper when the on-field umpires overruled the decision made by the third umpire, causing an uproar among the players and spectators alike.
The rare MS Dhoni moment
In the seventh ODI match between India and Australia in Brisbane in 2012, there was an incident that made headlines. Australian batsman Michael Hussey was stumped by the Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni off Suresh Raina’s bowling. However, upon reviewing the footage, it became evident that Hussey’s foot was behind the line when Dhoni knocked off the bails.
The incident occurred in the 29th over, and the ground umpire, Billy Bowden, referred it to the third umpire, Bruce Oxenford. After the incident in which Michael Hussey was stumped, the red sign flashed on the screen, indicating that he was out. The Indian team started celebrating as Hussey made his way back to the pavilion. However, umpire Billy Bowden chased after him and asked him to continue his innings as he was declared safe.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who was upset with the decision, complained to the on-ground umpires and even pointed his finger at Bowden. Later, the third umpire, Bruce Oxenford, clarified that he had hit the right button but the wrong decision was displayed due to a technical error on the big screen.
