MI vs PBKS IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians’ seamer Arjun Tendulkar had the unfortunate distinction of bowling the most expensive over in the IPL 2023 season so far. This happened during today’s match against Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. During his third over of the match, in the 16th over of the innings, Arjun gave away a staggering 31 runs to Sam Curran and Harpreet Bhatia.
Arjun Tendulkar’s embarrassing over
Arjun started off strong by taking the first wicket with a quick yorker. However, in the 16th over of the innings, he gave away a whopping 31 runs. He first bowled a couple of length balls to Sam Curran, who hit them for a six and a four on opposite sides of a wide delivery. After a single, Harpreet Bhatia took on Arjun and smashed him for two fours and a six, and then hit another four off a no ball. At the end of his three overs, the 23-year-old had figures of 1/48.
Arjun now shares the record with Gujarat Titans seamer Yash Dayal for having bowled the most expensive over in the current IPL season. Earlier, Dayal had given away five consecutive sixes to Rinku Singh in the final over when Kolkata Knight Riders needed 31 runs to win. Unfortunately, Arjun’s over is now the second-worst ever by a bowler playing for Mumbai Indians, with the worst being Daniel Sams’ 35-run over against KKR in the previous season.
