Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has again said that new agricultural laws are very necessary for farmers. He said that in a democracy no government can ever dare to enact a law that would harm farmers. At the Pusa Kisan Mela on Thursday, the Agriculture Minister said that the central government wants to create a model where farmers can sell their crop anywhere they want, get the price of crops according to their convenience, inside or outside the market. Tomar said that land cannot be compromised anywhere in it. But even after this, efforts are being made to provoke the farmers.
Addressing farmers at the Pusa Kisan Mela on Thursday, Narendra Singh Tomar said that today 86 percent of the farmers in the country have less than two hectares of land. There is no major investment in them. This does not benefit these farmers. Hence, their cultivation gets drowned in debt and the losses continue. Disappointed with this situation, the sons of farmers are quitting farming and going to cities to look for jobs. But if their farming was made a profitable deal, then this migration could stop. This is what the government is trying to do with the help of new agricultural laws.
