The five-match T20 series between India and England is going to start from today. Just before the start of the series, the Gujarat Cricket Association has taken an important decision as the GCA has decided to allow 50 percent of the spectators to watch the match on the field during the T20 series at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Starting on Friday, this series will go on till 20th March.
“We are going to use only 50% seating capacity at the Narendra Modi Stadium for all the T20 International matches to be played here due to COVID-19 pandemic,” Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) vice-president Dhanraj Nathwani said in a media release .
Nathwani said that all the guidelines related to Covid-19 are being followed. Special Task Force Committees have been formed to ensure the safety of fans.
“The entire stadium has been sanitized considering safety of the spectators. All COVID-19 guidelines are being strictly adhered to and special task force committees have been set up to ensure that all required safety measures are implemented and followed, ”he added.
After the T20I series the two teams will also meet for the One Day Internationals ahead of the mega season of Indian Premier League
