GT vs LSG IPL 2023: In the 51st match of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans have defeated Lucknow Super Giants by a margin of 56 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Krunal Pandya was captaining the team in the absence of KL Rahul and chose to bowl first. However, with Wriddhiman Saha (81) and Shubman Gill’s (94*) brutal knocks, Gujarat Titans managed to post 227/2 in 20 overs. In response, LSG had a good start but due to the regular fall of wickets after the powerplay, they could score just 171/7 in 20 overs.
This is Gujarat Giant’s eighth victory in 11 matches, making them reach the playoffs in a very early stage. This was also the first-ever match in the history of IPL where two brothers captained against each other. GT has defeated LSG now in all four matches they have played against each other.
LSG batters fall flat in tough chase
Coming to chase a huge total of 228 runs, LSG batters had a strong start as well. They managed to score 72 runs inside the powerplay without losing any wickets. Opener Kyle Mayers scored 48 off 32 balls, hitting seven boundaries and two sixes. Quinton De Kock, who was playing his first match of the season, scored 70 runs off 41 balls, hitting seven boundaries and three sixes. However, no other batter could work on the momentum set by him.

Ayush Badoni, however, showed resistance in the end and scored 21* off 10, but that was not enough as the run rate had already shot very high.
