Weather Update: Following the initial respite in early May, the current situation has become troublesome due to the intense heat. The Meteorological Department has predicted a potential heatwave and a significant increase in temperature this week. The IMD forecasts a considerable surge in daytime temperatures across the majority of the country. According to their estimates, certain regions in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Central India may experience temperatures reaching as high as 45 degrees Celsius.
Weather conditions are expected to bring fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms to Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, and Kerala – Mahe. There is a chance of heavy showers in these regions. Additionally, scattered rain and thunderstorms are forecasted over Arunachal Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.
Delhi
The national capital will remain sunny and bright today as well. The intensity of heatwave will intensify from now on. For today, the maximum temperature will be 38 degrees while the minimum will be 23 degrees.
Mumbai
IMD has predicted mostly clear weather during the morning and afternoon. However, partly overcast conditions may take over the region during the evening. Humidity will be at 72%. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature will be 34 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 29 degrees.
Chennai
A pleasant day is on the cards for Chennai today. There will be patches of cloud covering the city today, however, anything major is unlikely. For today, the maximum temperature will be 34 degrees and the minimum will be 28 degrees.

Kolkata
The morning will start with predominantly hazy conditions. However, the city is most likely to remain sunny and bright during the whole day. Humidity will be at 79%. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature will be 39 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 28 degrees.
