Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, stated on Thursday that the contract renewal time for Home Guards and Home Guard Volunteers would be extended from five to fifteen years, as per their long-standing request.
At the Directorate of Home Defence’s new administrative building’s opening ceremony in Vidyadhar Nagar, he made the statement.
According to a statement released here, the chief minister stated that the state government has been committed to making the Home Guard a strong and effective institution from the very beginning.
Gehlot praised the way in which Home Guard members worked side by side with medical professionals, law enforcement, and other first responders as “Corona warriors” throughout the tumultuous outbreak.
He claimed that the state administration has made a number of significant measures to bolster the Home Guard Department. According to Gehlot, Home Guards and Home Guard Volunteers’ contracts are renewed for five to fifteen years.
The state government will also provide up to Rs 2 lakh in support from the welfare fund for small companies to volunteers who leave the service after becoming 58 years old, the chief minister added, in addition to raising the Home Guards’ salary by 15%.
According to Gehlot, Rajasthan has taken the initiative in implementing welfare projects like the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme’s free Annapurna Food Packet Scheme and cashless treatment up to Rs 25 lakh.
Bhajan Lal Jatav, the minister of public works, MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi, Principal Government Secretary Anand Kumar, and Director General Utkal Ranjan Sahu were also in attendance.
The Rajiv Gandhi Centre of Advanced Technology (R-CAT) will include branches in the state’s divisions of Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Bikaner, and Udaipur, according to a separate statement from the Rajasthani government.
According to the statement, Gehlot has cleared a financial allocation of Rs 25.90 crore for this.
