NASA: National Aeronautical and Space Administration, also known as NASA, has confirmed there is no proof of extraterrestrial life associated with unidentified flying objects (UFOs).This declaration came about in a four-hour public hearing that featured several independent experts. These experts based their decision on a year-long research on unidentified flying objects.
NASA’s Dan Evans said after the public hearing,“”I want to emphasize this loud and proud: There is absolutely no convincing evidence for extraterrestrial life associated with unidentified objects.”
The expert panel comprised 16 experts including Scott Kelly, a former U.S. Navy pilot. Kelly was the first astronaut to spend a year in space.
He suggested that many people are misled by optical illusions. For example, Kelly explained, his radar office mistook a balloon off the Virginia beach to be a UFO.
NASA’S live public hearing was marred by trolling and abuses from some viewers. Evans took on the trollers and said trolling distracted others from a serious discussion on this subject. “Harassment detracts from the scientific process and reinforces the stigma surrounding the topic,” said Evans. He added that NASA’s security is looking into it.
“The first step”
This is NASA’s first step in trying to understand the mysterious sights in the sky. NASA calls UFOs as UAPs or Unexplained Aerial Phenomena.
David Spergel, the chairperson of the group, says that the key objective of the group is to sift unclassified information available on the UAPs and understand what’s happening in the sky.
The final report of the 16-member committee is due in a year.
“Stigma hinders scientific research”
During the public hearing, the panel said stigma prevented people from conducting serious scientific research on the subject. While the panel didn’t find any convincing proof linking life with UFOs, it didn’t rule out the presence of extraterrestrial life, either.
