Cricket Viral Video: Inzamam-ul-Haq, a renowned ex-captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, is widely regarded as one of the most skilled cricketers in the sport. He holds the record of achieving the highest number of runs by a Pakistani player in One Day Internationals (ODIs). While he has an impressive batting record, he has also been part of some amusing incidents throughout his career. Recently, a video of him has become popular on social media, showing him accidentally falling onto the stumps while attempting a shot, resulting in him being dismissed and giving the opposing team his wicket unintentionally.
Inzamam Ul Haq’s funniest dismissal
During the 2006 Test series, Inzamam-ul-Haq captained Pakistan’s cricket team on their tour of England. Having lost the first two matches, the third Test occurred in Leeds. Pakistan made a promising start in response to England’s initial innings total of 515. Both Yunus Khan and Mohammad Yusuf scored centuries for the visiting team.
Inzamam-ul-Haq entered the crease and swiftly initiated his innings by striking five boundaries in quick succession. Subsequently, Monty Panesar, an English bowler, took charge of the bowling duties, targeting Inzamam-ul-Haq. The Pakistani captain endeavoured to execute a sweep shot against one of Panesar’s deliveries but failed to connect effectively.
In the process of executing the shot, he lost his balance and stumbled onto the stumps. Consequently, the umpire declared him out for “hit wicket.” Despite making an airborne dive in an attempt to evade colliding with the stumps, Inzamam-ul-Haq could not avert his dismissal.
