In the fourth over of the match, the batsman attempted an aggressive approach by moving down the track to face a well-pitched delivery. Anticipating a big shot, the opener swung his bat but unfortunately failed to make any contact. To his dismay, the ball smoothly passed through the gap between his bat and pad, ultimately striking the middle stump.
With a mere 10-ball contribution of five runs, Lyth faced dismissal, leading Yorkshire to a score of 21-2 within 3.2 overs. Despite this setback, they managed to post a total of 156-7 on the scoreboard. Notably, their remarkable bowling performance ultimately resulted in a thrilling victory, securing a 30-run lead.
