Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secretary Pankaja Munde said on Saturday that her party will again come to power in Madhya Pradesh by winning the assembly elections to be held later this year. He also praised Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s step of giving one thousand rupees each to about 1.25 crore women of the state under the ‘Ladli Bahna Yojana’.
Responding to a question by reporters on the opposition of some sections to inter-religious marriage in the name of alleged conspiracy to convert, Munde said, “If love is pure, it should be respected but if there is bitterness and conspiracy.” So it should be seen from a different perspective.
BJP leader Pankaja Munde while addressing the media on Sunday said, “I think love is love. Love sees no walls. If two people have come together purely out of love, it should be respected. But if there is some bitterness and artifice behind it, it should be seen differently.”
The senior BJP leader averred that “love jihad” has never been an agenda for the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “No such subject as ‘love jihad’ has even been on the agenda of the Modi government. The discussions are always centred on development and redevelopment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus is to put the country on the road to development and progress in the next 25 years,” said Munde.
Munde, a former Maharashtra minister, recently indicated her disenchantment with the party by saying that she belongs to the BJP, but the party does not belong to her. Munde said on Saturday that she is serving the BJP following the footsteps of her late father Gopinath Munde. In response to a question, he said, “As of now I am not even a minister, but I am a secretary in the BJP.”
