New Delhi: A police official said here on Monday that a young couple from Naroda in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad city who intended to enter the United States of America illegally has been kept captive in Iran by a Pakistani agent who has demanded money for their release. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Chaitanya Mandlik, a FIR has been filed in this matter at Krushnanagar Police Station in the Naroda neighbourhood, and an inquiry has been opened by the Ahmedabad city crime branch.
Indian Authorities Reach Out to Embassy in Iran for Release of Captive Gujarat Couple
The criminal branch will contact the Indian Embassy in Iran with all pertinent information as the occurrence occurred outside of the nation in order to gain the release of the couple, identified as Pankaj Patel and his wife Nisha Patel, both 29 years old. The two sought to enter the US illegally, and according to information provided to Krushnanagar police by the couple’s relatives, they got in touch with a Hyderabad-based agent who set up their flight travel.

Gujarat Couple Held Hostage in Tehran by Pakistani Agent
According to the agent’s plan, the pair was intended to fly into Tehran, Iran, and then follow instructions, according to the police. Officials claim that a Pakistani agent kidnapped them from the airport in Tehran a few days ago and held them hostage there for ransom. The Pakistani agent and his allies beat Pankaj Patel, transmitted a video to his family, and demanded a sizable sum of money in exchange for the release of the couple, they continued.
