Amidst the ever increasing corona infection in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will do meeting in Varanasi on Sunday to review the condition of corona virus. According to the PMO, top officials, local administration officials and doctors fighting the corona virus in Varanasi will attend this meeting.
The PMO said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over a meeting in Varanasi to review the situation related to Covid-19. In this meeting, doctors, top officials and local administrative officers who are helping in the fight with Covid-19 in Varanasi will also be involved. ”
In the big urban centers of Uttar Pradesh including Varanasi, a sharp increase has been observed in the cases of corona virus infection.
Meanwhile India has so far administered a total of 12.25 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines till Saturday 8pm. Of this, 1.61 crore are second doses. The health ministry noted India is clocking the fastest case growth of 7.6% in new cases, 1.3 times higher than case growth rate of 5.5% reported in June 2020.
Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said around 25,500 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Delhi and the positivity rate has increased to nearly 30 per cent in the last 24 hours. He also said that the Delhi government has sought the Centre’s help in ensuring adequate beds and supply of oxygen for Covid-19 patients.
Less than 100 ICU beds are vacant in Delhi hospitals, and the situation is worsening every moment, Kejriwal said, adding that he spoke to Union home minister Amit Shah this morning and stressed on the need for making more beds available. “We are constantly in touch with the Centre and getting help from it,” he said.
