BMW R 1300 GS powertrain details
A 1,300cc boxer-twin engine will power the future BMW R 1300 GS, which will be the R 1250 GS’s replacement. With a six-speed gearbox, it will produce 143 horsepower and 143 nm. Additionally, BMW’s ShiftCam technology is likely to enhance it, albeit it might receive a slightly different tuning than the current 1250 series.
Expected features
In addition to LED lighting, radar-based cruise control, collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, a fully digital console with GPS, riding modes, traction control, ABS, and other features, the BMW R 1300 GS is anticipated to receive these features as well.
BMW R 1300 GS design details
In place of the tubular steel frame that has been present on every boxer version of the GS since the model’s debut in 1980 is a brand-new cast aluminium frame and rear sub-frame. In some of the most recent spy photos, a brand-new adaptive radar system that is anticipated to deliver adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear collision warning capabilities is also plainly evident. BMW’s telelever technology is used for the front suspension, and the single-sided swingarm and shaft drive at the back are paralever.
Expected launch
By the end of the year or in the first quarter of 2024, BMW Motorrad might start introducing the R 1300 GS in other markets, including India, after its introduction in late September.
