IVPL 2023: On Thursday, June 30, 2023, the first season of the Indian Veteran Premier League 2023 was unveiled. The tournament is all set to kick off on November 17, 2023, and we will see some legendary retired players back in action.
Indian Veterans Cricket Board and the Indian Power Cricket Academy will manage the tournament. Fans are really excited they will get to see some of their favorite players back in action. There are lots of retired players that are going to participate in the tournament.
Chris Gayle unveiled the jerseys of the participating teams, and he was really honored by it. He is excited to play in the tournament.
IVPL 2023: A Grand Opening
Six teams will participate in the tournament. VVIP Ghaziabad, Mumbai Lions, Rajasthan Legends, Chhattisgarh Sultans, Telangana Tigers, and Delhi Warriors are the teams. Chris Gayle unveiled the jerseys of all six teams.
Each team will consist of two foreign players and at least five former Ranji Trophy cricketers. Many legends have come back from retirement to play in this tournament. Other than a jersey, the winning trophy of the tournament was also unveiled, with the format of the tournament disclosed soon.
According to league vice president Praveen Tyagi “Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle, Suresh Raina, JP Duminy, Lance Klusener, Sanath Jayasuriya, Romesh Kaluvitarna, Praveen Kumar and many former cricketers will be seen in this league, and talks are on with many more.”

Chris Gayle was very happy during the launch ceremony. As mentioned earlier, he is very happy to be part of the league, and considering the love he gets in India, there is no doubt about it.
“It feels great to be a part of this league. I am eager to get on the field again and hit sixes. This is a new innings, and there will be a new beginning,” stated former West Indies batsman.
We can also see other retired players like Ambati Rayudu, Shane Watson, and other players in the league, as the marquee players will be selected through a draft in Mumbai in August.
