Inspirational Story: Deloitte’s current CEO, Punit Renjen, was hired in 1989 and is still in control of the company. However, he had many challenges in life, which he overcame in order to realise his objectives. The most senior member of the organisation and an Indian native named Renjen is a non-technical person. A Twitter user named Ravi Handa discussed Punit Renjen’s journey. In his thread, he claimed that Punit Renjen, who had to drop out of school due to his parents’ inability to pay the fees, eventually earned a degree from a college in Rohtak and travelled to Delhi in search of work after noticing an advertisement for Usha in the newspaper.
Renjan’s Rotary Scholarship and Transformational Flight to the US
Renjan was awarded a Rotary Scholarship, and as a result, he took his very first flight to the United States to begin his master’s programme. He struggled to stand out when he first started college with just two pairs of tight jeans and a few hundred dollars. He would sit in the front row with a tape recorder since he struggled to comprehend the American accent—this was common practise in the 1980s and 1990s. He usually listens to them twice to make sure he did not miss anything. When he was picked as one of the top 10 pupils in one of the local periodicals, his life was completely changed. While travelling, a Deloitte partner (Touche Ross) picked out the publication. Then he got a call to schedule an interview. He was employed. That happened back in 1989. He currently serves as the company’s CEO, 34 years later.
