Supreme Court Judge Justice Mohan M. Shantanagoudar died in Medanta, Gurugram due to lung infection. He breathed his last at the age of 62 late on Saturday. He was admitted to Medanta in Gurugram after his health deteriorated.
According to the agency, a court official has said that his health was stable till Saturday night, but he died till late. However, the source has not confirmed whether M. Shantanagoudar was a Covid or not.
On 17 February in the year 2017 itself, M.VShantanagoudar was promoted as a judge of the Supreme Court. He was born on 5 May 1958 in Karnataka. In September 1980, he enrolled himself as a lawyer. In the year 2003, he was appointed as Additional Judge in the Karnataka High Court. In September 2004, he became Permanent Judge.
After this, he was transferred to the Kerala High Court. Where he took over as Acting Chief Justice on 1 August 2016. Then on 22 September 2016, he became the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. After this, in February 2017, he was promoted as a judge of the Supreme Court.
The situation has worsened due to the Corona crisis epidemic in the country. With 3,46,786 new cases of Covid-19 being reported in the country in a day, the total number of infections increased to 1,66,10,481 while the number of under-treated patients has exceeded 25 lakh.
According to these figures, the number of dead has increased to 1,89,544 due to the death of 2,624 infected people in a single day. 74.15 percent of the new cases of Covid-19 are from ten states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
