Aus W Vs Eng W: In a final over thriller, Australia Women’s Team defeated the England Women’s team to win the first match of their T20 series. Australia is just coming fresh from winning their one-off test match against England.
Beth Mooney lead the Aussie’s charge and guided her team to victory. The match was full of twists and turns with the winner not being decided till the last over. Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell kept England in the game with their bowling, but it was not enough.
It was a record crowd for an English stadium as 19,527 people watched the game from the stands. You could feel the crowd on every delivery. It must be an ecstatic experience for the players to play in front of such a crowd.

While batting first, England made a score of 153/7 in 20 overs. While wickets were falling down from one end, Sophia Dunkley handled the other. Her brilliant half-century stabilized the innings for England.
In the end, Amy Jones played a fiery inning of 40 to carry England to a respectable score. Jess Jonassen took three wickets while Meghan Schutt struck twice and spearheaded Australia’s bowling. Tahlia McGrath also got one wicket.

Australia got a flying start with Beth Mooney scoring boundaries for fun. Alessa Healey got out cheaply but after that, it was all Australia. Tahlia McGrath and Ashleigh Gardner played small but crucial knocks to put Australia in the driving seat.
It was all going Australia’s way when Sarah Glenn struck twice in two deliveries to insert thrill into the match. Lauren Bell also got the wicket of Ellyse Perry to completely put England back in the match. It was a complete rollercoaster.
With 5 runs remaining in the last over, England’s captain went to Sophie Ecclestone. The number 1 bowler in ICC Rankings made sure there were more twists in the match. She got the wicket of Annabel Sutherland on the fourth delivery of the over.
With just 1 run remaining in 2 deliveries, Georgia Wareham somehow took a single to win the match for Australia.
